So working 14 years to get my standard...and i think Scooby is the one...long hair,up ears,big feet (for balance)non shed,curled tail and not much grooming....that's his sis next to him Willow.

So this fall I was sitting on the deck and I get to see the most amazing clouds form...and look it's a whale and it looks like he is catching fish in his mouth....I am Blessed to have this great view and experiences.

This is Pablo...he is the biggest boy....beautiful ,thick ,shiny coat...and great eyes....and really laid back.

Paloma II...she's mine...love the salt and pepper and the hair is what I'm going for in the Chipulys....love the long snout too.

Oh.oh....this is the tiniest Chipuly ever...but she does not put up with the bigger ones messing w/her...her name is Alexandra after my 4th daughter because she was born on her B-Day and is a lil Spit fire...they both are...but can be sweet too....she is not 1 lbs. yet and is 6 weeks old.

This is Dora Marr...she small but not tiny...great markings and hops like a rabbit...really funny.

This is cute Blue..silly and funny ..he will be running in one direction and does a 180 and zip off in the other direction...like he forgot something....a real Player.....i'm thinking he's turning silver .

Still trying to get Willow to be a Christmas dog for my grandson...Mom's on board...still working on dad...she is the sweetest most layed back dog and the best part with two young boys is she's non-breakable.

This is at 2 weeks but now they are 3&1/2 wks...and padding around so i just changed the bed so they can start using the PP pads...and they are doing very well....love the puppy smell...it's like a fix..puppy fix...i wonder if i can bottle that smell?

This is 30 minutes after she had her babies...she is so proud and happy...2 boys and 3 girls where born on the 17th of Dec....so since the Picasso show is in town i named them after the show...there is PalmoaII,Pablo,Blue(who is turning silver) Doar Marr,and because it was on my youngest daughter's B-Day the tiniest and scrappiest and so tiny one I named Alexandra after her.

* hours before I was in the Doctors office with an injured my Rotor Cuff...ohhh it hurt so bad...so I packed up Paloma and we headed to the office...well when we got there everyone in the waiting room wanted to see her so I let her out and miss silly Poodle went around to everyone twirling and hopping around and then headed down the hall and fell over like the "fainting Goats"...I thought oh no not here ...but she just pooped her self out and we mad it home and had pups later with me delivering with one hand...
and on pain meds.

Now this is a passion vine growing through the sub basement of my 1906 home(nice cement job guys) of course it's almost white because it has never seen the light of day...but it found a copper bust of Jesus...I just love this gift from God...I'm blessed.

Yesterday it snowed all day and then we had 30 mile and hour winds that took the Temp down to 11...oh..yea...thanks to a friend who went to Trader Joe's for me i have a supply of champagne and cheese...looks like 2 to 3days stuck home...but at least it's sunny out...but no Turkey day for me and the Pack.I have already been stuck in for 9 days with a strained rotoer cuff ...very ouchie ...can't lift my arm up even to my waist and sleep w/an ice pack on it..although it's getting better...just really hard with just one hand and arm that works.

These are fun and long with vintage crystals...love bending silver.

Clip ons that you can wear all day because they don't bite...silver with vintage Chinese crystal bead.

More clip ons...lots of movement is very important when having a conversation and you want that upper body prescence going on..look here not there.

Love these ..I soldered the bent square silver wire on to a sheet and hammered a bit too ...clipons again....

These go with the great pic on my face book photo...i should put that one onthis page ...but oh well time to head to the studio with the pack.

Sophia mama wants to get in to see her pups? No she wants to get to their mushy solid food....she gets it after the babies have had their fill.

2nd day ...she loves her pups...it's 86 degrees in there for the first week because the pups need to stay very warm...but Sophia has a fur coat on...so it was 3 girls and 2 boys....grandson Mr. JR has pick a name for one of the boys already "Scooby Doo"

All 5 took about 4 hours and no problems ...except me watching to much she did it all her self.

I thought I would start posting some of my favorite things besides jewelry and dogs.These two new dolls when a real find at my local flea market....the painting on the is remarkable...they take me right back to a little child and moving them around and making sure the pairs where together.

My collection has really grown from my hunt for more old friends.

More oldies but Goodies from the Past

I am always concerned about weight in especially earrings..these where lite and had a splash of gold zipping across the " bulls eye". ...the funny thing about these is a women in her late 70's at the time is the one who bought them...this is when "Helen's of Course" was turned over to her daughter Gerry Rice who now has a great store in downtown Seattle...I was in the Bellevue store when it opened.

Okay i turned this the right way 3 times and it ended upside down...but it was jewelry for a client that loved the acid etching and wanted to see it at home so I did a few of them in nickle silver and gold fill...sorry about the pic.

This one of my first "not your mother's pearls"series..Lot's of different elements in it including an acid etched SS ball with pearl drops.

I left these earrings more antiqued so the gold would show up and they where going with a charcoal wool dress so I thought the look worked better and the client agreed.

These are pins and are next to a pocket handkerchief
they are a pair to be worn together or separately...again SS,14kt and acid etched.

I made up this design..I called it my "Space Key" like for a space ship...I don't know but when you were raising 5 children "a lone" and had one day a week to think up something fun for your self to have it just explodes out of you ...it was my therapy...I don't know what or how I would have made it with out my strong faith and my art.
This was one of my first pieces I made for a stylish women on Queen Anne hill where I live also...she had some diamonds that I set with the 14kt.gold tube setting(looks more interesting and no worries like with prong settings...the chain i made is gold and silver...I just really liked that look...all gold look too-too and silver just plain and not etched look hummm..less expensive).

I wish I had a side view of this pin I named "Circus Circus" because it was so crazy...or maybe my life was at the time...anyway it's about a half inch in depth,etched,w/tube that had a Garnet set in the end and then the 2 you can see...it was bought by an old beau for his new wife...this is about the time that I had to start selling to pay for my 2 oldest daughters for college..no college loans for them.

This is the piece that when I finished it I knew how to solder very well...my instructor at Pratt in Seattle was a wonderful woman from the Outback ..she was tall and so real...I always felt like I had just had a 4 hour therapy session when I was through with class...she was so talented and generous with her knowledge her name was Michelle Dejong...I still miss talking to her...but back to this piece, in the chain I had to solder 3 little balls on each element (about 30,then times 3=90 solders)the two hanging beads where casted in and old African technique it was a new experience and I went on to make very large( no Giant) hollow hearts this way in the late 90's and early 2000( I will post those at another time so you can see the few I have left).

This last piece is a shoulder pin that has a silver little frog on it and he is sitting at the edge of a pond that has gold May Flies in the water( I'm from Louisiana and we had big mayflies there).The hanging piece is Chinese Turquoise that has it's matrix still in it...more interesting to me than straight stone....a mother of a new friend I met when I went to NYC for 2 weeks to sell my wears(Another story) bought this piece ...she was crazy about the Frog...he was pretty cute.

Oldies but Goodies

These were so fun to wear, and very dramatic...guess who I made these for ...Me...but they live in London,England...a Great Mom bought them for her daughter..silver,acid etched with green jade ,9mm pearls,square crystal and black onyx....

this is another tube pin with acid etching and I love the way the chain hangs..also with 9mm pearls..and I don't remember where this piece lives...but again I would wear this today and it was made at least 15 years ago if not longer....nice to pass down in the family.

These were some of my favorite designs that I did ...they where clip ons and the actual faces hung off the back of your ears...SS with ivory faces of a man and woman.

I found some old findings for Bolos and color tips...this is etched silver with 14 kt. gold half round wire I twisted and soldered on ...the dangles are vintage tear drop crystals...bottom pieces are tubes again that I etched and attached...really fun to wear with my collection of cowboy boots.

I actually had a horse farm in the early 70's with and indoor riding arena that my wonderful late husband built for me and our 3 daughters...so I'm not a fake cowboy boot wearer ...I was real then, and am now...What you see is what you get...nothings hiding here....so freeing...whee.

Old pieces but you can still wear them 15 years later

These are a hoot...they were carved by an 80 year old Alaska Indian
Who was bed ridden and used to carve real totem poles ...I bought a few pieces from his sister and you can tell he was a real artist the colors where so real and the abalone details and eyes so beautiful

this was also Silver and gold. This is SS and Gold ,acid etched and I called it my coin bracelet
.Once again it makes a great sound when you move your arm ...I was raised in the Air Force so my Dad traveled alot and he had a coin bracelet made for me from coins he had collect from his travels and I just loved wearing it and making a racket..what fun.

This is probably one of the very first pieces I made using a craved ivory piece that was my great grandmother's(MAMA Vignes was born in New Orleans..her Father was a sea Captain and her maiden name was Kitteringham)I cast the back piece and attached it with long prongs that laid in the carved groves ...I also made the chain.It's fun to take things out of that jewelry box you would never wear but they are too special to throw away and let an Artist like myself create something special you can pass on to the next generation..Recycle at it's best....after 5 kiddos I love the problem solving aspect of it.

This is a fun pin ...it's about 6 inches long and is a square tube with 14kt gold...the stone I bought in Flat Head Lake ,Montana..on a summer vacation with the whole family...in a one room cabin...(that's another whole story)back to the stone; it was like a painting and had so many colors and shapes I just fell in love with it and the little one hanging has a perfect pompom in it....fun piece to wear on winter hats or scarves.

This is definitely the 80's...big earrings were in ...gold and silver and acid etched and diamond tube set...this has what I call "upper body presence" keep everyone looking up as other parts of our body go south,or east or west.
I have lots more from my earlier years that I will be posting because I found the Mother Load of negatives and I have been doing more painting with my pearls and beads in necklaces lately
so it's fun for me to share with you these old friends(I do have an emotional relationship with each piece....it's not done until my eye tells me).

This pair of earring
s are very early pieces from me...I called it the "log jam"..I was trying to get texture and a 3D look...so I reticulated the silver(basically melting it in a controlled way)and added the moon stones....loved these.

This next one is of the acid etched on silver with 14 kt.gold adorned with 9 mm brogue pearls that had little gold and silver cups holding them...this was called the "Wedding Dance" because I had 2 daughters get married in the same week...and the pearls rolled and jumped around as I was doing during this crazy week. These are double pins that the chain can detach easily and the gold and diamond attached are my stud earrings I just screwed into and could also remove ...the top of the pins are cast and then soldered to the etched back...

This is again silver and gold and small
diamonds in tube setting to add a little something special...the silver was a tube that I squashed for easier wearing...all my elements make tinkling noises...love the energy....this is maybe 1989.

These are a pair of my

cowboy boots with reticulated SS heal pieces...again before acid etching started for me and I wanted them to go with the Python skin...I love them to this day although the skin is getting older as mine is also...64 this year...but I think Mom's should get credit for the kids in dog tears .7x5=35 +64=so i look REALLY GOOD 99.

A little more about me and how I started to make my art...5 kids, and it was all about therapy for me.I took classes at a block grant program in the south of Seattle that was run by a P.E. major (Edwin T. Pratt center)
I joke saying the only metal I was buying was for their mouths and if I wanted jewelry I was going to have to make myself....so I learned the basics there and no one told me no and the sky was my limit...so fun.(side note ,I did pay for 2 sets of braces from the chairman of the Orthodontic Dept. at U.W. because his wonderful wife a great doctor in asthma
and allergies already had a nice collection going for her and she love the new pieces I made especially for her(my dear friend Dr. Gail Shapiro and her most kind husband Peter.)

"Z" is 4 yrs. old and a blue merle deer chihuahua(one blue eye) and has been fixed after two litters ...she was a most excellent mama and has been raised in style and fun with me ...but she has to share my lap with 6 other dogs and I'm looking for a forever new Lap for her with someone who wants a "companion dog" ...they are at times better than the humans in this area ...she has put on a few Lbs. since surgery but still is only 11 #....loves walks ,car rides and just hanging out in the studio and back yard for most of the day but if she see an opportunity to hop in my lap while I'm working she is first to do it...not a barker but has a lovely on when she alerts me to passer bys on the back steps...totally housebroken and crate trained at nite. you can see her last litter on previous blogs...she will do will with calm energy and not little kids and big noises ...but then again me neither.

These are beautiful pearls mixed with square crystals and so really fun vintage glass beads. this grey and lavender

pearls with CZ in pink and purple...I'm working with my friend doing a silver mink collar for this piece....can't wait for the cool weather again to sport this Beauty. This is just so classic color to me ...with that flash of black mixed in and a few vintage carved ivory beads....this is working well with my linens...since I get to wear them first before they are sold to check for hanging and weight and flash.

this is the most recent black and white Saint's necklace...I wire wrapped the hanging cross with crystals and seed pearls...I gave it away 3 weeks later to Joyce Meyer...love her Ministry...and her style.

I have been making and selling these beauties for years....multicolour with vintage beads and the crystals always make you sparkle rainbows in the sun...fun,fun,fun.White beads are the main color with the brights added in ...I like them long so you can double or triple them up.....seems like a party to me.

the puppies are ready for new homes and are coming along so well ..it was me...I was cutting lilacs for my daughter on Easter morning and they where dropping to the ground and on my head and a nest of spiders bit the back of my neck and ears and it went into my nervous system and they gave me 3 kinds of pain killers but nothing worked{I was popping Oxy like M&M's ..I thought I would OD before relief came} ...I was dying in pain...it was so awful...when we finally realized that I had a ton of bites also on my face the Doc put me on steroids and it calmed down but it will take a while for the poison to get out of my system...Oh Dear Lord. See that spot on my face...that was just one of the bites after a 9 days ....they bit me all over the ear and neck...No rest for the wicked???No ,I'm a good girl...and I work at it too..

this new one came out of some where ..Rooting for my home team the Saints...then with a little Valentine's Day and a whole bunch of Madi Gras thrown in...kinda like making Gumbo...a little of this and that...and you can't measure ..it's all by taste in the mouth. The colors surprised me but I Love it.

OK...this is my jewelry box...i have to start selling it or the dogs and I are going to have to move out. I get such pleasure making my art...and I only have to travel 4 floors to my studio.The dogs and i hang all day and watch soaps or Bonnie Hunt or listen to NPR....it is the best life ...and I have created it for myself....YEA! ...but now I have all this jewelry that needs to hit the road ...and I have a plan.Check out all my lovelies.

Here are the three pups still left ..they are 11 weeks old now and think they are as old as the bigger dogs. well actually Fred is still here and Ricky went to his new great home last weekend.I think Fred is turning silver and will have the hair I am going for in the Chipuly Breed I am working on developing and registering before I kick the Bucket.As you can tell I haven’t gotten help on arranging this Blog yet.I will keep trying and NOT give up

Fred is the Hairy one ..Ethel is the blue merle and Lucy is the little B/W with flying Nun ears.

So I got my new computer and now I learned hoe to do my photo card to get my pics in…totally different from before a nice man in the Philippines took over my COMPUTER…really ..the mouse belonged to him …it was great to get my problem solved but really.So there has been so much happening and I’m going to do the new pup up date first. The Puppies are a week old today and growing up Fat and Shiny...I go into their room everyday and kiss on them ...it's the best smell and feeling ...I just want to eat them up they are so cute.Check them out.

Most of the puppies arrived on wed. nite... that would be 3 came one hour apart .Then I really did 'nt feel the fourth and the Vet. said one in the x-rays looked like it was'nt completely there...so I went to bed at b2:00AM ...got up at 5am with the rest of the pack ..pee&poop time water and cookies for all...I checked on the new and first time mom and all was well except me ...I was seriously lacking sleep so I hit the sheets til 8:30 and checked on Alice again and to my surprise their was a wet little blue merle girl ...so I started drying her well and making her squeck and wiggle to get her going and on the tit right away. So the out come is 2 boys and 2 girls. alice is eating well and doing Mom business like a pro...esp. for a first time mom.Yea! we did it again.

Frida is now running around up in the dog park in heaven and having a grand time with all her friends. We will miss you Miss Frida.My heart was broken today...it keeps us real and alive.

Frida has Breast Cancer and they said she'd only have 3 weeks left....but she made it for 9 weeks and we partied every morning by going to Macrina's for her Morning Glory muffin which was about all she would eat along with chewed up lamb steak...needless to say I gained 10 lbs during our partying...I loved that little little.

Bubba Bear is looking for a new forever home ...he is 2 and a half fixed male ...totally housebroken and is a non shedder and has a sweet personality and even smiles when he wants something from you.His color is blue Merle and he loves to be hugged like a baby bear.He is great in the car and loves to walk.

Well "THEY DID IT AGAIN"...parents to be Miss Alice and Joe-Joe are expecting on Halloween.I take Al in on Monday to see how many little Tanks there will be. I say Tanks because both of these two have the sturdy body,legs and esp. big feet...no breaking this dog...which is and has been what I have been working for for the last 13 years now...as well as the "BEST COMPANION DOG".Photos coming soon as well as update on how many are on the way.GO CHIPULYS.

I have so many new pieces to show you and will try to take photos this week but have been dealing with my Frida Girl the oldest Chipuly [only 10 yrs]and the one that sleeps with me ...she has had 2 mastectomies in 2 weeks and the report came back that it is very aggressive cancer and she doesn't have long .This has been such a blow to me because it takes me back to when I was 25 yrs old and had 3 little girl and a horse farm and my wonderful husband came down with brain cancer and lived only 10 months...I don't think I ever had time to get through that because of the girls and horses [foaled 2 colts that summer]and just trying to keep things going forward...now the emotions are catching up with me ...dang it's hard.

I have been renting my lower floor of my home off and on for 30 years now. It is 1,800 sq.ft. with has beautiful ebony colored hard wood floors that were cut at the turn of the century and are first cut oak, and a deck with amazing views of the skyline and sound.

The rent is $2,650.00 and it is on Craigs List. I can only post 4 pictures so I am putting more up on my blog for people to see.

Paloma's pups are 2 weeks and 2 days old today ,and are so healthy and gorgeous.I have not been able to post the pics for a while because I have been nursing my Frannie girl back to health.On Monday Nov.10th she hurt her back some how in the back yard and as a result she became paralyzed in both back legs. She stayed 2 days at the vets but was not eating or drinking so I opted to bring her home and she is slowly getting better .I love my Frannie. Please say prayers for her. Thanks

Most of my jewelry clients know that I'm working on a new breed of dogs called Chipulys...in it 12 year now .They range from 5 to 7 lbs. and are non shedding because of the poodle in them ...but there are always a wild one thats not ,but you can tell the difference if you have allergies. I have been so blessed by my labors and the wonderful people I get to meet and sell my love bugs to.Paloma had 2 boys and 2 girls on voting day Nov. 4th.and I will try and put photos up as they progress in size and age. The coral pic is one hour old and green pic is two days old can you believe how fat they have gotten already? Paloma is the first time Mom and she is doing a Fab job.
